Mono Print Induction

Mono Print Induction

An induction on mono printing to learn the process and skills needed to produce work by this technique. To start I learnt about the process and the overall basics of how to print.

I started by cutting out some type stencils and printing them on a plastic sheet, experimenting with the process of inking the board and knowing how to clean in after:


Having inked my board, I took the stencil and inked both sides of the paper in different colours. 

 

I experimented of different papers to try and see the best results you achieve with different types of stock. I tried one on tracing paper and the other on cartridge. I like how the choice of paper effects the print, as on the cartridge, the print is raised of the paper and so the print is not flat which I quite like the effect it has:

 

I also practised with layering prints on top of one another to achieve another result. In doing this I learnt  to achieve a print with two colours:
