I had real difficulty in explaining myself in the interim critique, for this reason I did not receive the most effective feedback to help me with continuing on with this brief. Before I could receive much feedback, a peers asked me the purpose of my website, I forgot to mention the uploading and quote element of the site. Due to this reason they could not understand the purpose of the site. The feedback was to try and figure out the content and purpose before I even start designing. I was extremely annoyed at myself for not explaining properly as I feel not only did I not get any helpful feedback, but I feel I did not stand up enough for my work. I understand the feedback was trying to be helpful, but as I do already know the purpose I feel the feedback is not going to help move the brief along design wise. Although the site is lighthearted, and my target audience is limited to people who enjoy coffee, does not mean it does not have purpose. I feel the idea of having debates of the meanings of coffee can be a light-hearted subject, while also receiving information in where they find coffee near them. As my peers where so set in advising me on the purpose of the website, I did not get any feedback on the overall aesthetic. Luckily, this is something I can ask in next weeks critique. This has really made me aware I definitely need to start prepping for crits before hand, to make sure I get the most out of them.
