Design Production, Brief 3 - Initial Thoughts - OUGD504

BRIEF - To produce a multipage website based on the research I conducted for my summer brief. 

I have began this brief by thinking about the different content that I could apply to my website. As my summer project was on coffee and coffee branding, I needed something that would be flexible and have enough content to apply to a multipage website. I have begun thinking about the type of things I researched over the summer and what direction to go in. 

After going through my research, the different ideas for content on my website are as follows:

My first idea would be based around the history and legends on where coffee comes from. This was, in my opinion a duller option to go with, however I was basing this around the brief title 'A brief history of…'. However after contemplation and looking further on the brief, I found I would not need to focus so much on the history as the website can reflect a collection instead of some sort. This could possibly be a collection of imagery or content that I could collect. 

My second was to think back to how different people take different coffees. I could look into what certain coffees say about you and look into the psychology of ordering a certain beverage. For this I could do some first hand research by asking customers in coffee stores and getting their opinions on the drink they purchase. 

My third was to think about how the coffee is actually made, the journey from tree to cup. However, unless someone was interested in coffee, would they find the website interesting? Another idea I had was a ratings guide to the best coffee stores, however I wonder whether this would be the most effective as this has been to so much on traveladvisor etc. I am going to ask my tutors and peers to see which they think would be the most suitable route to go down. 

After Critique

After speaking to peers and tutors in a group critique I am going to go down the route of 'What Does Your Coffee Say About You'. Thinking about why different people order different beverages. This is because they think it will be more interesting to do something that is informal rather than advisory. I have begun thinking about my content of what I could include on the website.
