TASK - Document, Organise and Evaluate and ongoing investigation into type and typography using the principles, practices and examples introduced during the studio workshops as a starting point.
Screen printed type. I like the printed
quality and the block font prints well:
Nice mix of fonts with an effective grid
system. Hand printed quality as well as having an interesting mix on
traditional and modern looking fonts:
Birthday card. Mix of type, serif and script
which I don’t not think work in conjunction with one another:
I Like the hand painted style in Mother:
Interesting silicone type. Nice use of
thick to thin lines:
Hand-painted style and over-flourished:
From the print
festival. Nice use of block fonts and mix of point sizes and weights:
Horrible use of
type as the kerning is too chaotic and spaced apart. They have tried to make
all the type justified, but in doing so, have made the poster not readable and legible.
It’s extremely hard to read, which will be off putting to people wanting to
read and look at this poster:
I Like how they
have tried to represent the old style lettering through the use of drop shadows
and serif fonts. This is to represent the ‘vintage’ theme of the market itself
which comes across well:
