TASK - Document, Organise and Evaluate and ongoing investigation into type and typography using the principles, practices and examples introduced during the studio workshops as a starting point.
Elongated stems on the ‘L’ and ‘K’. Almost
looks squished and stretched in comparison to the rest of the type. Slanted
terminals on letters such as the ‘e ‘and ‘n’:
Very modern silicone typeface. Try to show
how futuristic it is but I don’t like it. Think it’s gone too far but then
again will suite its audience:
Over flourished friendly typeface to show
the type of music and place it will be like:
Friendly fun type, over extended and
flourished terminals and serifs:
Modern sans serif. Like the height of this
type and it looks elongated and sophisticated:
Digital type trying to look handwritten and
sketchy:
Serif typeface found in a leaflet, like the washed
out effect:
‘Bouncy’, overfriendly type showing the fun
of the festival. Small counters and descenders to achieve this effect:
Outline on the type to try and recreate the
idea of type in lights. Flicks on the white type to show this further i.e.
tubes of lights:
Use of thick to thin lines. Heavy stems and
bowls, which makes the type more friendly and comical regardless that it is a
serif typeface:
Interesting use of type. I like the
flourishes of type and the serifs in the middle of the type, as it shows the ‘carnival
festival fun’ as well as showing an old style representation:
Over-flourished print but type so minimal.
Huge contrast for type and image. The image is so decorative and feminine while
the type is so harsh due to the crossbars being so low:
I is shown through the colours and negative
space:
Type and Image
working together:
Lines to create
the type have a very technological feel. It reminds me of sci-fi type, which
maybe represents the new, modern bar?
Horrible use of
outlined text. Cannot read or make sense of what this type is trying to say:
