For part 1 of
Production, Range and Distribution, my research was conducted on biodiversity
looking further into biomimicry. For part 2 of this brief, a practical needs to
be created that illustrates the findings of the biomimicry research, showing
what has been learned and developed.
Many people are
not aware of biomimicry or how it can help the environment. This is the basis
of the practical that is going to be conducted, showing what biomimicry is and just
how it can help. This needs to be done in a informing way rather than telling
the audience what to do. This will engage the viewer more with whatever the
piece is, as it is explaining rather than preaching. The target audience will
be aimed towards people who do not have awareness of biomimicry but who are
interested in the environment. Whatever is created will need to appeal to both
an older and young generation, as it needs to influence as many people to make
a bigger change as possible. The main idea behind what will be created for this
module is an interactive campaign of sorts. The idea would be to create an
awareness campaign, influencing people and showing the benefits of biomimicry
and how it can help the future. Most environmental campaigns can be slightly
dull, however this is something I would like to change. An interactive element,
perhaps something like lenticular or augmented, would be proposed. As
biomimicry is all about taking and re-applying techniques, the interactive
elements would show how these influences change into something else. The
interactive element will not only engage the audience more, but make the
campaign link to biomimicry more appropriately. As for timescales, this brief
has been started later than expected due to other modules, however do think it
is manageable. The interactive element will be proposed due to interactive
elements either been far too expensive or too lengthier process to create.
