Design Practice 2 - Study Task 3: Disobedient Objects North - OUGD505

TASK - To produce a flyer and brochure showcasing the 'Disobedient's Objects North at the Peoples History Museum' using the imagery and text provided. Evidence of type, layout and composition will need to be shown to produce a range of well designed layouts.

The first part of the task was to produce an A5 flyer, this needed to be a simplistic with a monochrome colour scheme. Development for this began by converting the given imagery into black and white, this was also done with the V&A logo, to make sure this stood off against the page.

The necessary information was included on the flyer, the imagery was bled off the page to create a focal point to the flyer. The text and branding elements were then aligned within the grid and in working with the image. Different point sizes were introduced on different parts of the information to create a hierarchy to the flyer. This would then act as guide, leading the viewers eye around the information.

The same flyer was then used as a cover for the brochure, however colour was introduced. Using the grid given, the layout was then developed. The alignment of the body copy worked off the initial imagery on the front cover, using that as a grid also. The positioning was carefully placed to work with the images that bled off the page. All images were bled to keep with consistency of the cover.
