Responsive, Secret 7" - OUGD503

BRIEF - To produce a record sleeve for the upcoming Secret 7 competition. The song choices are as follows:

- 'Let Forever Be' - The Chemical Brothers
- 'Reflections' - Diana Ross & The Supremes
- 'Go' - The Maccabees
- 'Sledgehammer' - Peter Gabriel
- 'Dead Flowers' - The Rolling Stones
- 'Digital Witness' - St Vincent

Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel is the decided song choice for this brief.

"Apparently this song is all about sex. It's influential stop motion video that accompanied the track's original release in 1986 is an all time great, and we shall be pressing the video edit audio."

Going off what Secret 7 has stated about the song, Sledgehammer is a classic with multiple routes to go down as far as concepts go. The nature of the song with its continuous innuendos is possibly something that could be looked into. There is also the possibility of looking into how the video was produced i.e. stock motion, claymation etc.

Initial ideas have been started through the use of a brainstorm. The song has been listened to and the lyrics have been looked into. This was to get to grips with certain themes within the song or whether they were any obvious lyrics that could be illustrated. The main interest points where then wrote down, certain themes of innuendoes could be a strong route to go down.

Using the brainstorm as a starting point, thumbnail sketches were produced to show how the concepts could look once designed. They were a few ideas that were the most interesting/suitable for the song. These were playing of the theme of innuendos but in different ways. These will be taken further into developing each digitally to see which would be the most suitable for submission into the competition.
