BRIEF - To re-design the business card for the florist 'Best Buds'. Although the client is only asking for the card, the brief will be extended into designing the promotional stationary that the florists could use within their business.
To start of this brief the client was asked to show what the look and feel of Best Buds was. They were asked to show their logo and business card as some sort of starting point. However the card that was given had no sense of a business. It had no original identity, the name of the business was written in a bland and uninteresting way. The client thought the card was 'modern and contemporary' which gave some indication this is what they were aiming to do, however the outcome was unsuccessful. As Best Buds had no solid identity, this gave creative freedom as to what could be designed. The client was open to any suggestions as long as long as it had feminine qualities as well as being 'modern'.
To further get the idea of what Best Buds is about, the client was asked to produce a flower arrangement describing the business through one of their bouquets. Colour, choice of flower and arrangement were all asked to be considered so a further sense of the business could be achieved.

The items in the arrangement will play an important factor when designing. This bouquet shows how Best Buds would describe themselves and so showing these elements in some way will create a stronger link throughout the business.

Development then began with initial ideas. After speaking with the client the sense of Best Buds started to come across. From this possible ideas and concepts came to mind to show the feel of Best Buds. Interactive ideas such as printing with dried petals, folding the card into a bouquet all were thought of, however due to limited budget the client had these ideas have had to be dismissed straight away. The ideas will need to be effective but not extravagant to meet the clients needs.
